Industrial Polished Concrete flooring
If you have been considering adding color to your concrete floor, stained concrete is one of the excellent options available. Your floors will produce luminous translucent tones with stained concrete, rather than the solid or opaque look that paints give. The results of stained concrete can be anything you want it to be. You can mimic stained wood, natural stone, tanned leather, or even polished marble. Concrete staining has become the popular option for people looking to enhance their residential or commercial concrete floors.

Our 8-Step Concrete Polishing Process
In Sugar Land Polished Concrete and Staining Company, the following steps are used for polished concrete flooring.
Step 1

We prepare the surface by grinding. This is done to remove whatever coating is on the concrete slab. A 16-20 grit diamond abrasive is usually used.

Step 2

If there are cracks or joints on the concrete surface, we seal them with a semi-rigid filler or an epoxy.

Step 3

We begin to grind the surface with a diamond abrasive. This is usually with a 30 - 40 grit metal bonded diamond. Then, this is followed by an 80-grit, a 150-grit, or finer.

Step 4

We apply a chemical hardener to densify the concrete surface.

Step 5

This is where the polishing starts. We begin to polish the surface with a resin bond diamond grit ranging from 100 - 200. In some cases, we combine both.

Step 6

We polish again using a 400 grit resin bond diamond. This is followed by an 800-grit

Step 7

We finish off with a 1500-grit or 3000 grit resin bond diamond. (whichever we use depends on your desired sheen level)

Step 8

This step is optional. We apply a stain guard to protect the concrete surface and make it easier to maintain.
